In Search Of Heat: A Curry Special

Born and raised in Fiji where his family had a Chinese restaurant, private chef and host, Kevin explores his culinary roots.

Along with spice queen Chef Devagi, they blend culinary influences from India, the Pacific Islands and a dash of local heat into a melting pot of Fijian goat curry.


Kevin reminisces his time in Indonesia where he was introduced to one of the spiciest curries that he has ever had – Acehnese chicken curry. Cooking entirely from memory and helped by Nusantara Cuisine expert Chef Mel Dean, they whip up a spicy curry, mixed with Indian and Indonesian influences, and served with roti prata.


Chef host Kevin Lee understands the history and simplicity Japanese curries along with his friend and Japanese cuisine expert, chef August Wijaya. Cooking alongside him, Kevin experiments by adding his spicy hot tomato chutney to a traditionally sweet curry.
