A new experience.

Mai Kana: Farm-to-table Omakase

Mai Kana means "come eat" in Fijian, and that's what my new Omakase nights at the Poon’s Farm will be called. Mai Kana is an escape from the city and a return to simple, modest pleasures.

Expect a moonlit kampong night of chef’s table omakase featuring farm-to-table produce and selected proteins, cooked soulfully with a grill, wok and claypot, with flavours from my diaspora in the South Pacific and my wanderings in Southeast Asia.

I harvest, you come, I cook, you eat.

What to expect from the Omakase?

Omakase means chef’s curation and choice. Mai Kana will feature local farm-to-table produce grown at my farm and from other select Singapore farmers. This will include seasonal vegetables, mushrooms and fruits. There will also be choice proteins including seafood, poultry and meat, to pair with the farm-to-table offering. The dinner will be prepared chef’s table style with a grill, wok and claypot.

What to expect from the setting?

Mai Kana dinners are held in a sheltered outdoor setting. Guests will be serenaded by the Singapore moon and cooled by the evening breeze, not an air-con.

How much does it cost?

Mai Kana is open to private bookings of 8–10 Pax at $165/pax. Special social dining nights will be organised where couples will have the opportunity to Mai Kana with other diners.

Additional information.
Unless specified, the omakase menu will also feature meat, poultry and seafood. Please ensure guests do not have dietary restrictions.
